Shake it and watch it snow!❄️

Image
Today, Senior Infants made beautiful snow globe decorations to hang on their Christmas trees at home.  The children were so proud of their creations—and we think they turned out magical!   We hope these handmade snow globes bring a little sparkle, joy, and Christmas magic to every home. ✨๐ŸŽ„

Library Visit ๐Ÿ“š

Image
Senior Infants had a wonderful visit to Cavan Library this week! We loved listening to a story, exploring the shelves, and discovering so many exciting books. Reading is so important—it helps us learn, imagine, and enjoy new adventures. We are very lucky to have such a fantastic library in our community. We can’t wait to visit again!๐Ÿ“š✨

Cake/Bric-a-brac sale ๐Ÿฐ

Today was a very special day for our Senior Infants! The Student Council girls hosted a wonderful Cake and Bric-a-Brac Sale, and the excitement in the hall was contagious from the moment the children walked in. The tables were filled with delicious treats and toys. The money raised will go towards new yard equipment for our school, something the children are already looking forward to using!๐Ÿช๐Ÿช€ A huge thank you to our fantastic Student Council girls for organising the event. Well done, girls, and thank you for helping make our school an even better place! ๐Ÿฐ✨

Football has started for Senior Infants!⚽

Image
Gaelic football is officially up and running for our Senior Infants, and we are loving it! Laura, our coach — who just happens to be an Ulster football champion — is teaching us all the tricks of the game. We’ve been learning how to hand pass, kick and solo. We can’t wait to keep practicing every week. Who knows — with Laura coaching us, we might have a few future champions in the class already!๐Ÿ†

The Adventures of Shay Mouse ๐Ÿ

Image
Last week, our Senior Infants had a very exciting adventure of their own as they set off to Cavan Town Hall to watch the wonderful play “The Adventures of Shay Mouse.”   The children were glued to the stage, laughing, gasping, and nudging each other every time something funny happened. And the absolute highlight? Shay Mouse’s country accent. A very special thank you goes to our Junior Infant teacher, Ms. McManus , for organising this lovely trip.  And an extra big thank you to Cavan Town Hall for welcoming our school so warmly and giving the children such a fantastic theatre experience. What a mouse-tacular day!๐Ÿญ✨

Our Visit to the Cathedral

Image
Senior Infants enjoyed a very special trip to the cathedral this week.  We loved exploring the beautiful building and taking part in Mass together.  We also lit a candle and said a little prayer for people who are special to us.❤️ It was a lovely reminder of the importance of coming together for Mass and sharing time as a school community.  We are so lucky to have such a fabulous cathedral right here in our town. We can’t wait to go back soon to see the Christmas crib !⛪✨

We put colourful Skittles around the edge of a plate and added some warm water. Then we watched the magic happen — the colours started to spread and made a beautiful rainbow swirl ! ๐ŸŒˆ ๐Ÿงธ The Gummy Bear Experiment We placed a gummy bear into a cup of water and made predictions about what we thought would happen to it. ๐Ÿž Invisible Germs – The Slice of Bread Experiment We learned about invisible germs and why it’s important to wash our hands properly . We used three slices of bread : ๐Ÿฅช One touched with clean hands , ๐Ÿฅช One touched with dirty hands , and ๐Ÿฅช One that we rubbed on a classroom surface ! We sealed them up in plastic bags and waited to see what would happen.   We had the best time exploring and discovering during Science Week!
